Roses
   Are Red

Romance and roses have been linked since Victorian times. In the language of flowers, red roses say “I love you.” Whether you're nurturing a budding romance or celebrating a love in full bloom, this ravishing red rose arrangement shows your sweet sentiment.

Makes one centerpiece.

You'll need:
4-5 dozen stems of fresh red sweetheart roses
6 stems of fresh red coxcomb
6 stems of fresh pale pink orchids
1 tall clear glass vase

Sharp knife

Floral wire
All items are available at most floral shops.

Assembly:

  • Using a sharp knife, cut the stems at a 45-degree angle to increase the flower’s life. Roses are very susceptible to mold, so shear off all leaves, except those just under the flower’s head.
  • Fill the vase 2/3 full with water.
  • Arrange the roses in a bunch, positioning an orchid or coxcomb every few inches to make a symmetrical bouquet.
  • Twine the flowers together with floral wire to help the bouquet stay in a tight bunch.
  • Refresh water every two days.
