This white on white sophisticated centerpiece will be the crowning touch
to an all-white table or complement any colorful tableware. The trick
is to artfully blend creamy shades and textures.
You'll need:
Three kinds of white flowers, such as roses, hydrangeas and peonies
A medium creamware or white vase
Scissors or knife
Three pieces of white ribbon, green twist ties or pipe cleaners
Assembly:
- Select three kinds of white flowers, each with a slightly different
shade and shape. I like the classic combination of roses, hydrangeas
and peonies, but orchids, gardenias and Queen Anne's lace are pretty,
too. Bunch each type of flower together so the blossoms fan out in a
graceful dome, then loosely bind the stems with a piece of ribbon, pipe
cleaner or twist tie.
- Fill a medium-size creamware or white vase about 3/4 full of water.
Clip flower stems to a height 1"2" higher than the vase.
Instead of mixing the flowers into a traditional arrangement, position
the three separate bouquets around the perimeter of the vase. Unbind
the bouquets and arrange them to slightly overlap, crisscrossing the
stems in the center.
- Fill in the center of the arrangement with a few stems of greenery.
