Trade in your same-old centerpiece for a vase full of veggies. We
all have an odd lot of vases crammed in the back of the cabinet, so pull
them out and put them to good use. Mix up a ready-to-eat fruit
bowl or fill with plastic fruits and vegetables for a last-forever display. Almost
anything is fair game – apples, oranges, artichokes or a confetti-like
mix of all three. Scatter a mismatch of vases throughout the house
or stagger three heights as one eye-catching still life – on the
mantel, a foyer table, a dining table or a console behind the couch.
Here’s How:
1. Group one small, one medium and one tall cylinder glass vase
on a tabletop.
2. Stack whole artichokes inside, positioning some upright and
some sideways to make an artful arrangement.
Quick Switch: Swap out the contents to keep
the display fresh all year long. Go for subtle contrast, mixing
up monochromatic seasonal colors and shapes to draw the eye.
